A book event … January is ARC Reading Month

December 24, 2008

This is one resolution my spouse can definitely get behind! Right now he can’t see beyond the book piles that multiply like bunnies. It used to be he was the one continually getting packages, from ebay, but in the past year I’ve taken over the Most Packages Received Weekly title in our house. His nose is a bit out of joint. Now it’s all about me and that’s as it should be. After all I’m the Queen and I wear my crown proudly.

At all times I have at least one ARC pile in my line of sight. January is ARC Reading Month hosted by Callista at SMS Book Reviews ties in perfectly with some of my reading challenges so the more than merrier, challenges/events that is not ARCs. Well maybe them too.

Here’s what Callista has to say about her reading event: The ARC Reading Challenge will help me read some but 12 in a year will not get me caught up since I’ll keep requesting and accepting them. So in January, I pledge to read no more than 3 non ARC books. It’s my goal to catch up a little bit more so that authors, publishers and publicists aren’t waiting too long.

Want to Join Me?
If you want to join me, great! Just let me know. You can save the button and use it on your blog.

Why January?
Most of your challenges have finished, many are just starting and so you have plenty of time to work on them and as far as I know, none end in January so you don’t have that mad rush. To get a fresh start in the new year as well. I think January is perfect!

What Are You Doing?
I’m reading as many ARCS in January as possible. You can keep track either in your ARC Reading Challenge or if you aren’t participating in that then you can make a list of your own. You don’t have to though! You don’t even have to keep track of how many you read. It’s an event, not a challenge. Participate however you want!

Come you know you want (NEED) to join Callista. I am! Check it out here.

Great! I’m glad to have you join me. I know many of us are way behind in ARCs although I don’t know if anyone is as behind as me. Happy Reading! You can post updates if you want but as I said, there are no requirements other than reading ARC books in January.
